Just my luck

So I brought home the halogen desk lamp that's been sitting in my office for almost 2 years now, ever since the bulb burnt out. I finally go to the store and get a new bulb. I put in the bulb, plugged it in and the thing just blew out the new bulb. I go to switch it back to off and the switch doesn't want stay switched back. I finally get it to click "off" and now it won't switch back on.

Great. I finally get around to having it work and now its totally broken. *sigh*
